|Chesterholm Lodge is a small friendly care home providing both residential care and day care facilities for adults with mental health problems. The home was established in 1986 and is within walking distance of all amenities including the shops, the sea front and bus links to local towns.
Built in the late 1800's, Chesterholm has immense charm and is tastefully decorated and furnished with the comfort of Service Users in mind. Chesterholm offers residential accommodation in single rooms, mostly en-suite. Each room is fully furnished and meets all current regulations.
In addition to residential care, Chesterholm Lodge is able to provide day care tailored to individual needs. Chesterholm Lodge offer a full day's care in a comfortable, homely setting with good home cooked food and all assistance offered by experienced, understanding and caring staff. Day care times can be flexible and comfortable transport arranged.
The home is owned by Kay Moss (RMN) since 1986 and is managed by Beccy clarke who has been employed since 2013 and is responsible for the day to day running of the home. The deputy manager is Maureen Bush who has had a long career in caring and supporting people and has been employed at Chesterholm since 1999.
The home employs a senior support worker, numerous support workers, activities coordinators, catering, housekeeping staff and maintenance staff. The team are trained to a very high level and have accomplished NVQ levels 2,3 and 4 as well as extensive qualifications in all relevant subjects including mental health awareness, challenging behaviour and communication.
We are proud of our achievements over the past 30 years and have enabled countless Service Users to lead full independent lives and in some cases to move on to independent living with full ongoing support offered on a daily basis.
Our aim is to provide person centred care and support based on Service Users' individual care plans. Our committed and well qualified care team work to provide the best and most appropriate care and support within a safe, comfortable and caring environment. Service Users are offered full support whilst allowing them space for them to be themselves and to be as independent as possible.
To summarise we aim to provide a warm, welcoming environment for all of our Service Users in safe surroundings with genuine, devoted support staff. We encourage privacy, dignity and independence at all times. Support staff are available 24 hours a day to offer assistance.
